Cabinet frees nearly a billion for car plant

THE CABINET agreed to release Sk970 million (23 million euro) to finance preliminary work related to the construction of a PSA Peugeot Citroen plant in the western Slovak town of Trnava. The money is to be freed from other budget chapters.

Construction on the 700 million euro plant should begin this fall and be completed by 2006.
