Sk200 billion needed to complete motorway

A motorway from Bratislava to Košice ought to be finished by 2010, according to Transport Minister Pavol Prokopovič, but the project still needs Sk200 billion (4.75 billion euro) for completion, representing Sk23 billion (546 million euro) per year.

Only Sk8.5 billion (202 million euro) has been budgeted for the motorway in 2003.

The minister said that without alternative funding, the project could be delayed by up to 10 years.
