Reader feedback: More love?

Re: Drug use in Slovakia nears EU levels, By Martina Pisárová, March 10 - 16, Vol 9, No 9

I am from the US and was somewhat surprised to read this article on drugs, it could have been written about any state in the US. In this country we try to educate the youth as to the dangers of drug use, [but] it does not seem to be working as drug use is growing at an alarming rate, even in our elementary schools. We also search for answers to the problem. In the US, parents give their children everything but still it is not enough. My question is this: What are these people/children searching for?? What is enough? Is it love and attention that they are not getting?
