Iraqi crisis could push up inflation

Analysts have warned that the war in Iraq could push up inflation in Slovakia. The cost of petrol makes up 12 per cent of total transport costs, and a long war could push inflation up by 0.8 percentage points, according to Unibanka analyst Viliam Pätoprstý.

However, he added that a short war could push the inflation rate up by just 0.2 percentage points.
