Slovaks in Kuwait ready for action

As the first Iraqi rockets hit Kuwait, Czech and Slovak soldiers are facing constant air raid warnings and have had to remain in their chemical protection suits.

General Dušan Lupuljev, head of the joint Czecho-Slovak operation in Kuwait said, "We will go into action when weapons of mass destruction are used. We are a special unit, which may not necessarily be used, and I personally hope that that time doesn't come because that would mean people had died."
