Fico: Government is servile to the US

OPPOSITION Smer leader Robert Fico accused the government of servility to the US, and added that the participation of Slovak troops in Iraq undermined the authority of the UN.

Fico was uncompromising: "The involvement of Mikuláš Dzurinda as head of the government in preparations for armed conflict and his subservience to all the statements and attitudes coming from the US take on a dangerous character, and are clear indications that he is not politically able."

Both Smer and the Slovak National Party (SNS) are against Slovakia's involvement in the conflict.
