President Klaus comes to Bratislava

NEW Czech president Václav Klaus made his first official visit to Slovakia on March 18, where he met Slovak president Rudolf Schuster and reminisced about childhood visits to Bratislava.

Klaus visited the presidential palace, which he had first visited as a choir boy. He also shared memories of a milk bar he used to frequent which is now a McDonalds. "Typical," he commented.

Slovaks hope that Klaus's strong ties to Slovakia (his wife is Slovak) will help to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
