Re: Strong support for EU, less for NATO, News briefs, March 10 - 16, Vol 9, No 9

It is good to read that a large majority of the Slovak people are in favour of joining the EU. Membership is bound to aid the process of democracy within Slovakia, and the larger the 'community of nations' is, the better the chances are of a continuing peace throughout Europe. As a foreign national I hope that the population will ultimately favour joining NATO. This is an organisation that may become increasingly important and significant in curbing the current imperialistic aspirations of the US.
