Re: Strong support for EU, less for NATO

Re: Strong support for EU, less for NATO, News briefs, March 10 - 16, Vol 9, No 9

As an American who is ashamed of our current leadership, I do hope that both NATO and the EU continue to grow and to dilute the influence of the US government over other parts of the world. It is very scary to be an American these days and to realize that your government, in your name, is going around making ridiculously selective decisions about whom to support and whom not to.

My son, by the way, happens to live in Slovakia and refuses to come back to American soil until "that man" (I refuse to call the so-called president by his name) is out of office. Many of us are ashamed of the way our country is behaving these days.

"Do ľava," (to the left) I yelled, "Nie, do prava" (no, to the right), I gasped. "Dolšie," I screamed. "Nie, nie, horšie..." My Slovak girlfriend collapsed in laughter. Was it something I said?
