Re: Slovakia weighs in on EU constitution

Re: Slovakia weighs in on EU constitution, By Lukáš Fila, March 10 - 16, Vol 9, No 9

Slovakia should give careful consideration before joining the EU. As a person of Slovak descent living in the state of Texas, US, I believe the current red flags that Slovakia is experiencing with their EU involvement should be taken as a warning. Personally, I would not want France, Germany, or Belgium to determine my foreign policy or threaten my country's sovereignty; much less protect me from an enemy.

I think it's a simple question: Does Slovakia want to see itself though the eyes of the EU or keep the independence and freedom they have so dearly cherished over the years? There are literally millions of people of Slovak heritage living in the US and I'm not the only one thinking this way.
