Černák seeks asylum in Czech Republic

SUSPECTED boss of the Banská Bystrica underworld, Mikuláš Černák, has applied for asylum in the Czech Republic after being arrested there on April 5.

Slovakia had issued an international arrest warrant for him when he failed to return from abroad to complete a prison sentence after being released too early from an eight-year sentence. He had already left the country, and was believed to be in the Canary Islands.
