THE STATE has lost tens of millions of crowns through the sale of iron ore by customs offices, ANO MP Ľubomír Lintner told parliament.
He said investigations have already discovered 8,500 metric tons of iron was sold by the customs office in Čierna nad Tisou. "In 2001 it was sold for Sk30 (0.73 euro) per ton. The firms that bought the ore sold it on for $12 (11.2 euro) per ton."
The investigation showed that the 124,000 metric tons had been sold since 1997.
