JURAJ Majchrák, deputy head of the Supreme Court has been nominated by the majority of judges in the Supreme Court to head the organisation. Alternative candidates were Sergej Kohut and former head Štefan Harabin.
Harabin was originally selected last year but Kohut, his opponent for the post at that time, complained of irregularities in the selection process and the election was declared invalid by the Constitutional Court.
The Judicial Council will make its selection for Supreme Court chief justice on May 7.
