Slovak hockey team favourite

For the first time ever, the Slovak hockey team is going into a match against the Czech side as favourites. The game will be played this evening in Helsinki, in the second round of the world ice-hockey championships. In six previous world championship meetings, Slovakia has never beaten the Czech Republic.

Slovak captain, Miroslav Šatan, said: "We're not thinking of the past, we're not worried by any 'Czech' complex."

Slovakia is currently on top of Group E after beating Austria 7:1 yesterday evening. The Czech Republic is second on points.
