Slovak unit to return from Iraq

THE CZECHO-SLOVAK anti-chemical unit sent to Kuwait as part of coalition forces and now providing humanitarian aid in Iraq is likely to return by the end of May, officials said, although the current mandate lasts until the end of the year.

The Czech Defence Ministry web site quotes one Slovak officer, Oliver Toderška, as saying: "It is said that we should be returning to Slovakia by the end of May at the latest. The soldiers feel upset about that. After surviving the war, they would now like to share in the distribution of humanitarian aid."
