KDH threatens to leave coalition over abortion rights

The leader of the coalition partner the Christian Democratic Party (KDH), Pavol Hrušovský, said that his party were prepared to leave the coalition after unsuccessful talks yesterday to resolve differences over abortion rights with another coalition partner, the New Citizen's Alliance (ANO).

The KDH maintains that the current law allowing abortions between 13 and 24 weeks in the case of genetic defects is against the constitutional rights of the unborn foetus.
