Tax changes planned before 2004 reforms

The Finance Ministry has reported that it is planning to introduce increases to excise duty on cigarettes, alcohol, and petrol in advance of planned changes for January 2004.

In the first quarter of this year, revenue from tax and customs duties was 25 percent less than expected.
