KDH threatens action over abortions

THE LEADER of the coalition's Christian Democrats (KDH), Pavol Hrušovský, said his party was prepared to leave the coalition after unsuccessful talks on May 19 to resolve differences over abortion rights with another coalition partner, the New Citizen's Alliance (ANO).

The KDH maintains that the current law allowing abortions between 13 and 24 weeks of pregnancy in the case of genetic defects is against the constitutional rights of the unborn foetus.
