Industrial park must reapply for funds

DELAYS in buying the land for an industrial park near Rožňava in eastern Slovkaia have meant that EU funding is no longer available.

The Rožňava mayor, František Kardoš, explained that although the park proposal had been approved for funding through the European Phare 2001 programme, organisers had been unable to secure the purchase of the land.

The funds had been expected to cover Ř2.4 million of the total Ř4 million costs of the project.
