STV hands out redundancy notices

STATE-RUN television company STV on May 19 told 1,015 workers that they were to be made redundant. The redundancies have been planned since the beginning of the year to reduce operational losses of around Sk20 million (Ř475,000) a month.

Most of the jobs will go from the Bratislava studios, with 234 in Košice and 104 in Banská Bystrica.
