Pension rise set at 6 percent

THIS year's pension rise was finally set at 6 percent by parliament on May 22, after months of speculation and arguments between the Finance Ministry and social security provider Sociálna poisťovňa.

The cabinet had originally proposed a 5 percent rise, while parliamentary opposition had been calling for rises of between 7 and 10 percent.
