Mega Traditional Dance House

THE ORGANISERS of the regular folk-dance lessons in Bratislava's V-club and Zrkadlový háj House of Culture will hold an event called the Mega Traditional Workshop on June 6, the culmination of the Dance House series.

Renowned Balkan music-dance ensemble Szászcsávás from Romania and the Fonó folk band from Hungary will perform. Popular Bratislava music bands such as Muzička and the Samko Smetana Folk Band will also play.

The main programme will include some of the best performances from the workshop series that was led by top dance masters in Bratislava. Additionally, visitors can participate in non-traditional dance competitions, and listen to world music performed by Slovak bands Banda and Žiarislav a Bytosti.

The event starts at 19:30 in Dom kultúry Zrkadlový háj (Zrkadlový háj House of Culture), Rovniankova 3 on the Petržalka side of the Danube. Tel: 02/6381-1328. For more information on the Dance House project visit www.tanecnydom.sk.
