SPANISH tenor José Carreras comes to perform in Bratislava with Slovak mezzo-soprano Eva Garajová on June 7. Carrereas made his debut on the international opera scene in 1972, and his discography includes more 150 recordings with world-renowned orchestras. Garajová, a laureate of the European Art Union's Mahler prize, has performed around the world. The duo will perform the music of international composers such as Alessandro Scarlatti, Enrico Granados, Giacommo Puccini, Paolo Tosti, and Franz Lehár, accompanied by Lorenzo Bavaj on piano and the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano. A MEGA dance and light show Circus World directed by Ján Ďurovčík based on traditional folklore is performed to original music by Henrich Leško. Staged by professional folk dancers from one of the leading Slovak folk-dance ensembles, SĽUK, it tells the story of the creation of the world and the first people.
