Heroin ring busted

Slovak police arrested five members of a local heroin-smuggling gang, including the ring's boss, an Albanian man Bashim A.

Vice president of the Slovak police force, Jaroslav Spišiak, said that the force's anti-drug squad carried out several house-to-house searches and found 2.5 kilograms of the drug, machine guns, bullets, and one gas pistol.

"A branch of the Albanian narcotics mafia was active in the Slovak territory," Spišiak said.
