ANO says KDH should leave coalition

IF THE New Citizen's Alliance's (ANO) draft amendment on abortions is passed in parliament, the Christian Democrats (KDH), which strongly opposes the proposed change, should leave the ruling coalition, ANO boss Pavol Rusko said.

At a press conference on June 9, Rusko told journalists that the state of the relationship between his party and the KDH was nearing "hatred".

He said this despite the other two coalition partners supporting the KDH, and calling for the draft to be withdrawn from parliament until the Constitutional Court delivers a pending verdict on abortions.

The draft amendment aims to incorporate into the abortions law a current Health Ministry guideline that enables abortions to be carried out until the 24th week of pregnancy in cases of serious genetic diseases in the foetus. ANO proposed the change fearing that the Constitutional Court might rule the existing guidelines on abortions unconstitutional.

One nuclear shelter with a capacity for several hundred people now serves as a music club with suitable name Subclub (formerly U-club).
