Farmers prepare for strike

SLOVAK farmers are preparing to strike in protest at what they say is a lack of cabinet measures to support Slovak milk and meat exports.

Head of the Slovak Agricultural and Food Chamber Ivan Oravec said that recent drops in the price of pork and milk may lead the sector to a loss of about Sk1 billion (€23.8 million).

Farmers' labour unions have not yet decided on the form and timing of the strikes.
