Slovak Railway's 42,000 workers are all due to receive a 720Sk (€17.31) monthly pay rise, approximately 5 percent for many of the workers. The debt-laden state company must find an extra Sk250 million (€6 million) a month to pay for the increase.
Unions had been calling for a 13.5 percent rise, 5 percent above the current inflation rate.
