Kukan strongest presidential candidate

IF PRESIDENTIAL elections were held in early July, Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan would win the vote, a recent survey showed.

According to polling agency MVK, Kukan won 20.6 percent support among respondents and was followed by opposition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia leader and three-time prime minister Vladimír Mečiar who scored 15.8 percent in the poll.

Current president Rudolf Schuster ranked third with 11.6 percent. Presidential elections in Slovakia will be held next year.
