THE US defence department has withdrawn all aid from Slovakia, as well almost 50 other states. The move comes because those states have not signed bilateral agreements with the US exempting its nationals from the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court.
This is the result of a US law forbidding military aid to countries that had not signed such agreements by July 1. The law provides exemptions to 27 countries, including 18 members of NATO.
The support lost includes military training in the US and more than $1 million (€870,000) of military aid annually.
