Gambling costs Slovaks Sk9.25 billion

LAST year, Slovaks spent a total of almost Sk9.25 billion on slot machines, almost half of what they annually spend on food.

According to daily Pravda sources, some municipalities are trying to ban gambling in their localities, but most of them profit from it and mayors consider income from gambling an important source of money.
