Majský custody debacle continues

JOZEF Majský has been sent back to pre-trial custody on July 3 after Košice regional court decided that there was a risk that he would try to suborn witnesses in his case.

Majský was originally released on June 21, only to be re-arrested five days later accused of putting pressure on a witness through a third party. He was re-released on June 30.

Thought to be the richest man in Slovakia, Majský is awaiting trial over allegations of fraud and organising a criminal group during the collapse of unlicensed deposit companies Horizont Slovakia and BMG Invest in 2002.
