READER FEEDBACK

Reader feedback: Stand up against China

Re: Putting money above values, By Lukáš Fila, July 7-13, Vol 9, No 26

I am an Irishman and the article I just read saddens my heart deeply. Jiang Zemin is on trial for genocide in the US for his persecution of Falun Gong in China and around the world.

In Ireland in 2001, the Chinese premier visited. Every official asked about human rights. At the time there was a man called Zhao Ming in a Chinese labour camp for practicing Falun Gong and the Premier of Ireland asked live in front of the national media when he would be released.

He is now back studying in Ireland. Good people of Slovakia, please stop your country from getting involved with a terrible human rights abuser.

Please stand up for human dignity and ask your government to distance itself from China.

Gerald,
Ireland
