Politician’s wife found dead

The body of Marcela Weiss, wife of Democratic Left co-founder and former deputy speaker of parliament Peter Weiss, was found by police in a field near the town of Moravany nad Váhom near the western spa town of Piešťany on August 14.

Weiss had called the police after his wife left their holiday apartment at the spa on Monday and failed to return. Police found no evidence of foul play and are treating the case as a suicide.
