Reader feedback: Three cheers for Palko

Re: Palko has axed 137 policemen since appointed, News shorts, August 4 - 10, Vol 9, No 29

Good for Interior Minister Vladimír Palko. And if it takes 137 more to be fired, so be it. Sounds like this is a "No fooling around type of guy". Good. Slovakia has to get the right type of people in leadership at all levels of importance, if it means what it says - "To clean up shop".

The more people getting caught with their hands in the cookie jar, and paying for it with their dismissal, the better. It has to start someplace. And from what I have seen and heard on these pages, especially in the police department. Then the Slovak people will know the leaders mean business and are acting on it, instead of just paying lip service to it.
