Trade deficit increases

The trade deficit of the Slovak Republic for August was Sk 4.2 billion (€100 million) - the second highest monthly trade gap this year.

The monthly growth rate for exports in July was 17.1 percent and the volume of experts was Sk 69.8 billion (€1.66 billion). Imports grew by 11.5 percent in a month to Sk74.1 billion, (€1.76 billion), the Statistics Office reported on Thursday.

The trade balance deficit for seven months of the year was Sk13.5 billion (€320 million), and compared with the same period of last year, it was Sk34.9 billion (€830 billion) lower, down by 72.1 percent.
