Unemployment rate keeps falling

THE NATIONAL Labour Office (NÚP) reported that Slovakia's unemployment rate dropped to 14.42 percent in August. News wire SITA reported that the July unemployment rate was 14.6 percent.

For the month of August, the NÚP registered 382,707 people, without jobs, who were ready and willing to work.

The total number of registered unemployed, including those on sick leave, or taking part in qualifying courses, dropped by 4,502 from July to August by 418,263. Compared to the same period last year, the number of unemployed has dipped by 74,344.
