Bratislava businessman killed

Influential Bratislava businessman Jozef Surovčík (46) was shot dead on Thursday evening. The police found his body at the Slnečné jazerá recreation centre, near Senec.

The daily SME reported that Surovčík maintained links with the mafia, and ran business with the recently assassinated underworld figure Ján Takáč.
His name has also been associated with conflicts involving foreign nationals who control the Slovak drug market.
