Teleflex Automotive Slovakia, a producer of plastic and metal car parts, plans to expand its production in Vráble, near Nitra, while creating 300 new jobs, news wire TASR has reported.
The company's second production facility, located in a new industrial park, will open by the end of this year.
Teleflex, which entered the Slovak market in 1995 under the name United Parts Slovakia (UPS), currently employs 640 people.
In 1997 the company was taken over by US Teleflex Incorporated, which later decided to expand its capacity. UPS was renamed Teleflex Automotive Slovakia in April 2002.
Germany's Industrie und Gewerbpark has begun the construction of five production halls on 6.5 hectares in Vrable, an investment worth Sk800 million (€19.33 million).
Up to 1,500 new jobs are expected in the new industrial park.
