Presidential elections in April

THE first round of presidential elections will take place on April 3, the speaker of the Slovak parliament, Pavol Hrušovský, announced.

Provided that none of the candidates wins more than 50 percent of the vote in the first round, the second round will be held on April 17.

So far, Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan, and Christian Democrat František Mikloško are the only two presidential candidates to have started their official campaigns.
