Smer names shadow cabinet

THE OPPOSITION party Smer set up a shadow cabinet led by the party's chairman, Robert Fico, with 18 ministers, as opposed to the 15 cabinet members in the current government.

New ministries include energy, regional development and Euro funds, and public administration. Another proposed sector is a ministry of strategic development and IT.

Smer also agreed to actively support the efforts of the KOZ trade unions to initiate a referendum on early elections.
