US troops should go away, citizens say

TWO THIRDS of Slovaks think that US troops should leave Europe.

A study produced by the Institute for Public Affairs (IVO) thinktank showed that Slovaks valued US military protection but they see no further need for it since the end of the Cold War, the daily SME wrote.

Slovaks also oppose further increases in the state's expenditures on the defence sector.
