Attorney general candidates revealed

APART from the former Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) member Miroslav Abelovský, now a member of the People's Union (ĽÚ), another two possible candidates for the attorney general post have been revealed.

The Slovak daily Pravda reported that the main military prosecutor, Dobroslav Trnka, as well as lawyer Peter Filip, who defended tycoon Jozef Majský in his ongoing trial surrounding accusations of fraud in relation to the collapse of unlicensed deposit companies, could run for the top post. Neither of the two prospective candidates confirmed the information.

The elections will take place in parliament this December. MPs must submit their candidates by November 14.
