SLOVAK transporters are unprepared for Austria's new electronic truck toll system, due to be launched on January 1, Austrian highways operator Asfinag told news wire TASR.
Under the system, trucks of more than 3.5 tonnes maximum weight must have a GO-Box fitted to the windscreen. Asfinag warns that those that do not have one will face lengthy queues at the border.
The electronic collection of tolls is based upon an exchange of data between the GO-Box and hundreds of toll portals equipped with microwave antennae.
