HZDS runaways to form common party

TWO PARTIES that were created after two groups of former Movement for a Democratic Slovakia MPs left the opposition party are ready to unite in a single party in January 2004.

Vojtech Tkáč, who leads the People's Union, and Pavol Gašaprovič, leader of the Movement for Democracy, agreed on the merger of their small formations on November 29.
