BUSINESS DIARY

AFTER two years of preparation, the only existing English website about Bratislava, www.bratislavacard.sk, was launched in November. Tourists, business travellers and foreigners planning their trips to Bratislava will no longer have to browse the internet to find a number of addresses to get up-to-date information on the city. They only need one: www.bratislavacard.sk.

Slovakia will shortly become an EU member, the city is getting ready for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly summit, and a lot of people will be searching the web for information on Bratislava. All material is originally created for this website and many news items are under preparation.

For example, www.bratislavacard.sk, shows that what was portrayed as Sarajevo and Vienna in the Hollywood movie Peacemaker with George Clooney and Nicole Kidman was actually Šafárikovo námestie or Hlavné námestie, and that Donald Sutherland shot Uprising in Bratislava as well. Bratislava Card has no intention of becoming the yellow pages on the internet, and its presentations will change regularly. The site is looking forward to the responses of its visitors, their critical remarks, and their ideas.
