Figeľ picked for business-IT in EC

THE EUROPEAN Commission (EC) has decided that Slovakia's commissioner candidate will work in the business and IT sector.

Figeľ, along with nine other future commissioners from the acceding states, will undergo training in the areas they were picked for.

Despite his wish to be delegated to the science and research sector, he welcomed the EC's decision.

"It's good news. The business enterprise and information society is an important area," Figeľ said in reaction to his nomination to the Slovak daily Pravda.
