US Steel offers jobs to 10 Roma

STEELMAKER US Steel, the biggest employer in the Košice region, has offered jobs to 10 Roma from Košice's Lunik IX suburb, mostly inhabited by Roma, the daily Pravda wrote.

The Roma will shortly begin labour safety training and take IT courses led by two local missionaries.

The steelmaker, which first offered jobs to a group of 25 Roma, now employs almost 70. It is committed to continue to support the Roma community in one of the most heavily unemployed parts of the country.
