PRIME Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda's Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) has proposed to limit investment stimuli only to investors who are to start business in the Prešov, Košice, Banská Bystrica, and Nitra regions.
"These are regions with higher unemployment than the Slovak average," Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš told the SITA news wire.
However, the SDKÚ wants to maintain the possibility of judging exceptions, he said.
Stimuli to investors entering strategic technological branches, chiefly information technology and biotechnology, would only apply to investments of a minimum of €500 million.
The national unemployment average in February exceeded 17 percent.
