SLOVAK FOOD producers have started a Buy Slovak campaign to encourage local shoppers to buy domestic food products in order to "help Slovak farmers and food producers".
The Slovak Farmers' and Food Chamber said that Slovaks spend about Sk120 billion (€2.97 billion) per year on food, and imported items make up between 20 and 25 percent of purchases, the Slovak daily Pravda wrote.
