FOUR young Slovak musicians received Golden Notes awards, sponsored by Slovenská sporiteľňa savings bank, on March 25.
The winners are: Lýdia Drahošová, contralto with the Slovak Philharmonic Choir; Bibiána Bieniková, first clarinettist with the Žilina State Chamber Orchestra; Zuzana Gréková, first oboe player with the Košice State Philharmonic; and Jozef Luptáčik Jr, first clarinettist with the Slovak Philharmonic.
The four musicians were selected from 11 nominees by a jury that included the directors of the leading Slovak musical institutions. The award, which came about to support young talent, includes financial compensation.
